Air Bud (1997)

Josh is a shy kid that, despite of loving playing basketball, is too afraid to join the basketball team at his school. As he is also new in town, he is quite afraid of making new friends, so he plays on his own close to his house. One day, he meets Buddy, a golden retriever that has run away from his abusive owner, an alcoholic clown. Josh soon discovers that Buddy can play basketball, and they start playing together.
